Your Itinerary

DAY 1

Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Our safari adventure starts the moment you land at Kilimanjaro International Airport / Arusha Airport, where you will be met by our staff and transferred to a hotel in Arusha for a briefing with your guide. After breakfast you will be picked up from your hotel and have a straight drive to Tarangire National Park with a picnic lunch, proceeding with a game drive in the middle of the park — expect to observe herds of elephants (10-20, sometimes up to 30); while on the game drive don't forget to look to the treetops as you might spot a leopard, and you may also see buffalo, impala, zebras, warthogs and giraffe. Explore the park until late evening before driving to the campsite for the overnight.

Meals: Lunch, Dinner
Accommodation: Marera Valley Lodge
DAY 2

Day 2: Tarangire National Park – Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, and packing all the camping equipment into the safari vehicle, you leave the camp for Serengeti via Manyara through the rift valley escarpments. Today you have the option of visiting a Maasai village on your way to Serengeti, reaching Serengeti by evening for an evening game drive towards camp.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Accommodation: Embalakai Authentic Camps
DAY 3

Day 3: Full Day in Serengeti National Park

Breakfast at around 8:00am. Proceed with morning and afternoon game drives in the Serengeti, with a lunch and leisure break at camp in the mid-afternoon. The term Serengeti means 'endless plains' in the Maasai language; the central plains hold carnivores like leopard, lion, hyena and cheetah, and this park is normally the scene of the annual migration of wildebeest and zebra between the Kenyan Mara and the Serengeti, alongside varied birdlife including eagles, ducks, geese, egrets, vultures, secretary birds, ibis, stork, herons, kites, pelicans, cranes and guinea fowl. Optional: an early-morning hot air balloon safari, drifting silently above the plains with stunning views of wildebeest herds, giraffes and prides of lions right below you.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Accommodation: Rhino Lodge
DAY 4

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha

After breakfast and a picnic lunch, a short drive takes you to the descending gate and down the crater floor, 650 metres deep, for a half-day crater tour — with luck you can see rhinoceros among the many permanent resident animals the crater supports year-round thanks to its permanent water. After lunch, ascend the crater rim, pack up the camping gear, and drive back to Arusha (or directly to the airport).
