3 Days Safari Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire National Park & Lake Manyara National Park

This 3-day Tanzania safari lodge package starts and ends in Arusha and includes Tarangire National Park with its large elephant population, Lake Manyara National Park where you can spot tree-climbing lions and colourful flamingos, and the world nature wonder, the Ngorongoro Crater, with its 600-metre-high walls.

Your Itinerary

DAY 1

Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

After breakfast at your lodge in Arusha, depart for Tarangire National Park for a game drive. The road passes the beautiful Masai steppe and several villages. Tarangire runs along the Tarangire River with low-lying hills on the floor of the Great Rift Valley, mainly acacia woodland and huge baobab trees, with a swamp area to the south. Tarangire is famous for its large elephant population, alongside giraffe, buffalo, zebra, impala, wildebeest, warthog, baboons and monkeys, plus lion, leopard, hyena, jackal and cheetah. Over 400 bird species have been recorded here. Late afternoon, drive to your lodge for dinner and overnight, with a brief stop at the Lake Manyara view point.

DAY 2

Day 2: Tarangire – Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, drive up to the Ngorongoro highlands for registration at the gate, then to the crater view point for photos before descending 600 metres into the crater floor for a full day of game viewing. Often called the Eden of Africa, the crater supports wildebeest, eland, zebra, hippo, elephant, gazelle and the rare black rhino, plus a dense population of lion, hyena, cheetah, jackal and leopard. Visit Lake Magadi, a shallow alkaline lake known for flamingos and other aquatic birds. Late afternoon, drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 3

Day 3: Ngorongoro – Lake Manyara National Park – Arusha

After breakfast, visit Lake Manyara National Park, the evergreen park at the base of the Great Rift Valley, known for tree-climbing lions, giraffe, elephant, zebra, buffalo, leopard and hyena. Afterward, drive back to Arusha, with an optional stop at Mto wa Mbu market or a Masai market on the way, arriving in Arusha in the late afternoon.
